Have Another Look Captain Cook!

Monday 3 - Friday 7 August 2020 from 9:30am – 2pm daily


Schools are invited to participate in Cobb+Co Museum’s annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

Celebrate the history and culture of the First Australians through a full day of activities, students gain first-hand experience in traditional music, dance, storytelling, games, skills, crafts and more – all the things Cook did not see when he came here in 1770.

Students will be able to participate in several different activities throughout the day such as:

  • Groups join together each morning for a Welcome and Smoking Ceremony
  • Murri connection to country – tucker, medicines, tools and weapons
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander games
  • Boomerang and spear throwing
  • Dreaming stories and art activities
  • Hands on activities using artefacts in the Binangar Centre
  • A daily cultural performance with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performer

Activities run with rotation every 30 minutes.

Incorporating NAIDOC Week, National ATSI Children’s Day, and International Day for the World’s Indigenous People.

Cost: $3 per student. School/Group bookings essential.
