Piano Box Buggy 2

Typical piano box style but with a leatherette protective covering over the luggage tray at the back of the vehicle. This example has sarven hubs, rubber tyres, more decorative buttoned upholstery and elaborate dash board rail. The name ‘piano box’ may derive from the appearance of its body, which resembles an upright piano lying down.

Black body with red and beige lining on the timber dash board. The undercarriage is bright red with black and beige lining.

This vehicle belonged to Mr Francis Young of The Grange, Brisbane. (Bolton Collection)
