The Beatles 1964 Australian Tour

Celebrate fifty years since The Beatles' 1964 tour of Australia with the exhibition "Welcome to Australia … which one am I talking to?”

This was the awkward question from the journalist that greeted The Beatles when they arrived for their first and only tour of Australia in June 1964. Three weeks and hundreds of thousands of screaming fans later the tour had fundamentally changed Australian youth culture.

Cobb+Co Museum's exhibition takes you back to 1964 with original photos, concert footage, rare memorabilia and more, this is a fascinating exhibition for those who experienced The Beatles’ 1964 Australian tour, and those who wish they had!

New items added to the exhibition since it opened include John Lennon and George Harrison’s Ansett airline tickets, a gold disc presented to The Beatles by EMI Records (Australia) and original paperwork for the Brisbane Festival Hall concert.

Welcome to Australia … which one am I talking to? is open 10am-4pm daily at Cobb+Co Museum from 13 June 2014 to 8 February 2015.
