Feature Artisan - Cecile Arndt

Well-known local fabric artisan Cecile Arndt has been chosen as Cobb+Co Museum’s first Feature Artisan from 19 May to 12 June 2012.

Cecile is an experienced textile artist who uses the medium ‘dye on silk’ to create a variety of artwork including wall art, wearable art, soft furnishings, cards, banners, soft wall hangings and patchwork quilting panels.

“It’s playful and forgiving and so responsive. It’s certainly gets into your skin and into your heart!”

Cecile will also give demonstrations of her talent on Saturday 19 May and Saturday 2 June 2012.

The Feature Artisan initiative showcases the treasures and skills of innovative and creative artisans.  The artisan has the opportunity to have their creations displayed in the Museum Shop for one month and also to give a series of demonstrations.

The demonstrations give visitors the opportunity to see artisans using traditional trades, crafts and skills to create unique contemporary items.

Our Museum Shop also stocks a wide range of unique hand crafted gifts and mementos by our blacksmith, silversmith, stonemason and glass artist.
