Prerequisite: Blacksmithing Basics and Advanced Workshops
Venue: Cobb+Co Museum, 27 Lindsay Street, Toowoomba
Date: Saturday 22 - Sunday 23 May 2021
Time: 7am-4pm (both days)
Cost: $420, includes expert instruction, all materials, morning and afternoon tea and lunch
Age: 16 years and over
Requirements: Please wear closed in boots (or steel capped), long trousers and long sleeves
All our Blacksmithing Workshops have a maximum number of participants to ensure you receive all the assistance and direction you require.
On the day
Extend your blacksmithing skills even further and create a unique and handmade tool set consisting of a set hammer, a leafing hammer, a hot cutter, a leafing stake and a pair of scrolling tongs.
Participants will use traditional scroll work, twisting and other decorative techniques.
After completing this workshop, you are eligible to participate in other Blacksmithing Project Workshops.
Meet your tutor
Terry Drennan began training as a blacksmith and farrier in Melbourne when he was 21 years old. He has won the Australian champion in blacksmithing and farriery on many occasions. At the same time, Terry never lost the skills and enthusiasm for the other traditional facets of his trade such as making decorative gates and furniture. He has been teaching blacksmithing courses at Cobb+Co Museum for over 15 years.
