Museum Shop puts the spotlight on Ryan Carnie from Clyde Park Collections

Ryan Carnie is a plumber living in Pittsworth with wife and Toowoomba nurse Lashai. Between both of their jobs, the pair spends their time running a small business that shines a light on the traditional skill of blacksmithing to create unique and beautiful copper and metal pieces.

Several years ago, the pair co-founded Clyde Park Collections in memory of a dear friend Jacko Sim, who Ryan worked with for many years in North Queensland.

"I always appreciated the love Jacko had for traditional skills like blacksmithing and it has become a passion of mine to learn some of those skills," said Ryan.

"Jacko sadly passed away in 2016 and in his memory Clyde Park Collections was born."

Ryan also specialises in custom pieces, enjoying the creative process of working one on one with clients to help their vision and ideas for an item come to life.

You can admire, purchase and order a variety of these exquisite pieces in the Museum Shop.

In line with COVID-19 restrictions, bookings to visit the Museum are essential. You can book your free visit here.
