Curator Conversation

Alyssa Madden digs up fascinating insights from Australia's ancient past at 'Arnhem Land Archaeology' on Wednesday 4 November at 2pm.

There is more than meets the eye when it comes to the curious stone objects that have been resting in Australia’s soil for tens of thousands of years.

Join us as newly qualified Archaeologist, Alyssa Madden, shares personal digging experiences and fascinating insights into the everyday activities of those who lived in and around the oldest rock art site in Australia dating back 25 thousand years.

As part of her ongoing research into Arnhem Land stone tools, Alyssa works closely with USQ Archaeology to unearth buried objects in the Madjebebe area and identify their role in the lives of Indigenous Australians.

This talk is part of the Curator Conversation series presented on the first Wednesday of each month.

Free with admission to the Museum.

(Admission to the Cobb+Co Museum is free for Toowoomba Regional Council residents.)
